Assessing the Accuracy of TESS Asteroseismology with APOGEE

University of Florida

Focus: Assessing the capabilities of TESS to perform accurate asteroseismology with APOGEE as verification

Responsibilities: Cross match data of red giant stars between TESS, APOGEE, and Kepler to confirm that TESS performs similar to the kepler scale

Advanced Stellar Modeling Through TESS Asteroseismology With 158,000 Red Giant Ages

Dr. Jamie Tayar

University of Florida/Department of Astrophysics and Astronomy

Focus: Calculate and interpolate ages for 158,000 red giant stars based on data collected by NASA's TESS mission.

Responsibilities: Learn to operate MESA (Modules for experiments in staller astrophysics) with HiPERGATOR and use python to interpolate ages whilst also calculating error bars for said ages.
